- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
Everton look set to be involved in another relegation battle this season.
Everton suffered a bruising 1-0 defeat to Southampton on the weekend and that was the last straw for many fans, who called for Sean Dyche to be sacked.
The Friedkin Group already have a managerial plan in mind which involves getting rid of the Englishman at the end of the season regardless, with a fresh start for the new stadium.
Dyche has won just seven games over the last 11 months – which is certainly worthy of the sack.
And Graeme Bailey has provided the latest update on who the Friedkin Group have in mind, should they pull the plug on Sean Dyche.
The Friedkin Group want David Moyes to replace Sean Dyche if he’s sacked by Everton
Everton News spoke exclusively to journalist Graeme Bailey, who revealed that David Moyes could be brought in as Dyche’s replacement until the end of the season.
“The loss to Southampton was a really damaging one and the hierarchy and prospective new owners are not happy,” Bailey explained.
“We know Dyche is not going to be in charge next season, however, if things get worse, the club are willing to make a change in the dugout.
“It’s understood that former manager David Moyes would likely be brought in as his successor until the end of the season.
“The Friedkin Group aren’t happy with the current situation but they recognise that finding a long-term replacement would have to wait until next summer, realistically.
“In fact, the only reason Dyche is still in charge is because they view Ipswich Town and Southampton as near certs for relegation.”

Moyes would be a popular appointment among Everton fans
Everton fans have urged the club to bring Moyes back to Goodison Park until the end of the season as Dyche’s team selections begin to frustrate.
Supporters were left fuming at Dyche’s decision to bench Jarrad Branthwaite against Southampton, as he instead opted for a pairing of Michael Keane and James Tarkowski.
Moyes has a great rapport with the fanbase and if he were to join, he’d be well aware of what’s expected of him.
He managed to conjure up 1.54 points per game during his time as Everton, which betters Dyche’s current record of 1.27 points per game.
A telling few weeks leading up to the new year lies ahead for Everton.
