Everton’s activity throughout this summer transfer market has been so refreshing, but one acquisition does stand out above the others.
After all, whilst Jack Harrison‘s return marks smart business, and signing Tim Iroegbunam will provide added depth in midfield, Iliman Ndiaye is the one that has fans truly excited.
In his final season with Sheffield United, the Senegal international recorded 27 goal contributions, and earned praise for his mesmeric, magical yet tireless displays in the Championship.
Well, in an effort to truly get the best out of their new man, Everton might now be set to wade back into the EFL to sign his perfect partner.
Everton want to sign Yaser Asprilla
Kevin Thelwell’s desperation for a winger has been well-documented, and that has emerged through countless reports linking them to a few.
Everton’s interest in Jaden Philogene has naturally dominated headlines, but with the competition involved within that saga, a viable backup might be in order.

Fortunately, the club seems more than prepared, with Everton linked with Yaser Asprilla of Watford as well.
The Colombia international has shone for club and country of late, and is reportedly valued at just £15m.
This would mark an investment into their present and their future, given how exciting this 20-year-old Championship prospect already is.
Everton’s transfer window is on fire
Were Everton to capture Asprilla, or even Philogene, and combine them with the attacking exploits of Ndiaye, next season might truly be a revolutionary one for Everton.
After all, the last time this club boasted such fluent, exciting attacking talent was when James Rodríguez was shining for the Toffees under Carlo Ancelotti.
Combining with a fit and firing Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson, with the likes of Alex Iwobi and Bernard mixed in as well, the football on display was at times mesmerising.
Fortunately, in Asprilla, Sean Dyche may be set to find something as close as possible to their chief creator from that 2020/21 season in a fellow Colombian.
Asprilla came up through the ranks for Envigado F.C., coincidentally the same side that Rodriguez did too.
One report even offers the similarities between the two, as a couple of left-footed magicians who have enjoyed great success cutting in from the right to devastating effect.

In fact, it is noted that Asprilla’s training back in Colombia put him at the same level as the legendary compatriot, who continues to shine at international level.
To combine his silky trickery with Ndiaye’s hard-working magic, these two could strike up a fine creative combination to turn Calvert-Lewin into a goalscoring monster once again.
