Sean Dyche has now dropped his very own verdict on how he anticipates Everton seeing out the transfer window.

This window was never going to be a busy one for Everton, with such financial uncertainty looming over the club right now.

The 10-point deduction has shown the club how serious they need to treat remaining within PSR compliance.

This has only been heightened thanks to the Premier League charging the club once again over the past few weeks.

Therefore, money was always going to be tight in the winter transfer window and despite some consistent links to some loan deals, Sean Dyche has put these rumours to rest once and for all.

Sean Dyche drops three-word verdict on Everton’s transfer chances

On deadline day, the only movement at Finch Farm has been Dyche’s press conference in which he has dropped a damning verdict when asked if Everton will make any signings on deadline day.

He said, “I doubt it,” when asked about possible arrivals which we appreciate with his straight-up honesty not leading anyone on.

He also followed this up to further quash any belief of an incoming, “I don’t even think it’s probable. It’s improbable that anyone comes in today.”

While this will be a disappointing revelation to those who were eager for at least one loan arrival, although, in hindsight, it’s easy to understand why Everton hasn’t.

Everton are wise to not be doing business

The situation Everton is trying to escape from makes unnecessary spending in January a big risk. Even loans cost money and would add to the wage bill, so it’s probably smart to refrain from doing so and instead wait until the summer.

Everton should find form eventually and are playing well enough to be out of the relegation zone, the fact they’ve missed the third most big chances in Europe emphasises that.

So surviving this season with what they have is perfectly achievable, ahead of a summer when Everton should be able to spend a little.
