Sean Dyche makes honest admission on Beto at Everton

Sean Dyche hasn’t been blessed with a huge amount of striker options at Everton this season, with one player enduring a torrid time of things at Goodison Park.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been tasked with leading the line for Everton this season, and he’s done an alright job at it but he’s not set the world alight.

The Englishman has struggled to consistently find the back of the net due to a lack of composure in front of goal, which was evident against Ipswich Town last time out.

Calvert-Lewin has two goals and an assist in eight games for the Toffees, but he insists he’s feeling good and is ready to push on after recovering from injuries.

He’s not the only Everton player who has been struggling to find some consistency for the Toffees this season, as Beto has had a time to forget.

Beto joined from Italian side Udinese last summer and probably now regrets his decision.

The striker has just six goals and two assists in 43 appearances since making the move, which is an awful record when you consider the fact that he was signed to rival Calvert-Lewin.

Now, Sean Dyche has delivered his verdict on him, and he doesn’t seem best pleased either.

When speaking in his press conference ahead of the Fulham clash, he said this.

“Beto has to keep working at his game.”

Beto’s chances of staying at Everton

It’s safe to say that Beto probably won’t be at Everton beyond the January transfer window.

Interestingly, Beto has already attracted interest from the Friedkin Group’s very own AS Roma, who were are looking to try and bring him back to Italy.

However, it has been claimed that the Toffees have no plans to offload Beto in January according to one publisher, though we don’t know how true that is.

With Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti on their way back from injuries, the Portugal-born star could soon find himself as the fourth choice striker.
