Everton midfielder Andre Gomes is now the subject of ‘extreme’ interest from Super Lig side Trabzonspor with manager Abdullah Avci keen to seal his transfer in January.
The 30-year-old has endured a frustrating campaign so far this season after a long-term calf injury. But Dyche, finally, welcomed Gomes back into the Everton fold in December and has relished his presence since. He has fielded the Portuguese in each of their last four fixtures.
But as Gomes will be out of contract this summer, Trabzonspor are now looking to agree his transfer from Everton. That is according to the Star, with the Turkish newspaper noting that the Black Sea Storm’s manager, Avci, wants to see the midfielder move to Papara Park now.

Trabzonspor are ‘extremely’ interested in Andre Gomes’ transfer
Avci had targeted Gomes’ transfer from Everton last summer but Trabzonspor failed to reach an agreement with the Toffees. So, he is now revisiting their approach. But any move for the 29-cap international will depend on the price tag the Goodison Park outfit now slap on him.
Negotiations are already underway between Trabzonspor and Everton to try to hammer out the Blues’ asking price. Gomes is also already evaluating a broader proposal from the Papara Park natives. The Star adds that Trabzonspor are ‘extremely keen’ to get a deal over the line.

Gomes has been at Everton since August 2018 after joining the Merseyside natives on loan from FC Barcelona that summer. He would later agree to a £22m permanent switch in June 2019. The Blues even also awarded the midfielder a five-year contract worth £120k-a-week.
What has Sean Dyche said about Andre Gomes’ future at Everton?
Trabzonspor must test Dyche’s resolve if Avci is to now secure Gomes’ transfer from Everton before becoming a free agent in June. The Toffees boss stated after the midfielder returned from his calf problem away to Tottenham Hotspur that he still has a future at Goodison Park.
Dyche said, via the Everton website: “I’ve said all along [that] I can see a future for him at the club and that I want him around the group.
“But he’ll have to earn it like everyone else. He’s had a really tough time. But to see him out there today was terrific, and I thought his performance was excellent once he got into the swing of the game. He was very, very good.”
