Senegal fans react to Everton’s ‘starboy’ Iliman Ndiaye in 2-0 win over Sudan

With the international break well underway, Iliman Ndiaye was the first Everton player to show his recent form for Senegal.

Everton fans are probably frustrated that a break has come around after David Moyes’ side has been in stellar form.

Jack Grealish and Ndiaye have adopted a connection that looks to be the Toffees’ main threat at the moment.

The 25-year-old has shown he can be one of the most dangerous players in the Premier League, and he’ll be hoping his time with Senegal doesn’t halt his progression.

Fans have reacted to his performance against Sudan, with his home nation offering an interesting verdict.

Senegal fans give mixed opinions of Everton star Iliman Ndiaye’s display vs Sudan

The winger has been electric on Merseyside so far this campaign, and after Senegal beat Sudan 2-0 in their 2026 World Cup qualifier match, it seems like it was a decent display from the star.

Ndiaye was rated 7.5/10 by Senegalese media, and some Senegal fans on X have agreed, but others, not so much.

One fan said, “I. Ndiaye, top,” with another agreeing after his display, “Players like Ilimane Ndiaye are exactly what draws fans to watch a football match. He has a natural ease in everything he does on the pitch. STARBOY.”

“Iliman Ndiaye, the day he stops slipping and lifts his head a bit more, he’s top 10 Ballon d’Or,” an ambitious Senegal supporter said, as another claimed: “Iliman can make a crazy difference in this match, but right now he’s forced to stay on the right and play like a pure winger, the only mistake by Pape Thiaw (Senegal manager) since he got here is the use of Iliman Ndiaye.”

Some weren’t too pleased with his performance, with one fan suggesting: “The latest matches of Iliman Ndiaye with the national team… Ismaila Sarr gets criticized for far less than that,” but another disagreed, praising a brilliant thing he did: “Iliman Ndiaye what a pass.”

Ndiaye had a mixed display, but the winger might have taken his foot off the gas slightly after performing so excellently for Everton.

Idrissa Gana Gueye didn’t feature in the 90 minutes as Ndiaye got the limelight, and that could be the story of next summer.

Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye could be the subject of major interest next summer

After the winger’s start to this campaign, it might be hard for Moyes to keep hold of his star player.

Since arriving from Marseille, the 25-year-old has been a revelation, and even got Inter Milan bidding £40 million for Ndiaye in the window just gone.

Judging by his numbers from August in the Premier League, there certainly looks like a very high chance he will be the subject of interest once again.

For now, the winger will focus on his football at Everton, where he seems happy. However, January and the next summer could present the Blues with a tricky task in keeping hold of their flourishing asset.
