Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol has shared what he claims will happen after Everton lodge their appeal against their 10-point deduction.
Sean Dyche’s side now sit joint bottom of the Premier League on four points after being found guilty of breaking the league’s profit and sustainability rules.
The club are obviously outraged with the decision, with interim Chief Executive Officer Colin Chong confirming that the club will be appealing the decision that has been handed out.

Kaveh Solhekol on Everton’s point deduction
Solhekol believes that the Toffees will be holding a strong defence in this case to try and get the punishment reduced dramatically.
Speaking on Sky Sports News recently, the journalist confirmed the steps the club will take following the news today.
“I don’t know what the chances are but I think it will be done very, very quickly. Look at the table there, Everton have immediately dropped down to 19th, with only goal difference keeping them off the bottom, they were 14th before this points deduction.

“I think what the Premier League tried to do before the summer because there has been a lot of unease and uncertainty around these profit and sustainability rules and also the potential punishments, because these cases can drag on and on, so what happened during the summer is that they introduced new rules so these cases had to be fast-tracked, so if somebody was deducted points it would be for this season and the case would be dealt with quickly.
“I think this whole process including appeal has to take a maximum of three months, so this appeal will be heard quickly, it will be fast-tracked because of the new rules and will be heard by a new panel.
“I’m sure Everton are going to put up a very robust defence. Because to begin with they were very surprised they were charged and they are very, very surprised at this punishment they have been given today.”
What next for Everton?
Today’s news comes as a shock to everyone involved with Everton Football Club, with the Toffees receiving the biggest points deduction in top-flight history.
The punishment handed to the club is harsh, with a maximum of six points rumoured before the official deduction.
However, boss Dyche is doing an amazing job with this squad of players with massive potential on the field for the club to progress in recent weeks.
If any time was best for the punishment, now would be it with the gaffer currently getting the best out of his players – with the current squad more than capable of securing Premier League safety this season.
