Everton midfielder James Garner is being named as the perfect replacement for Casemiro at Manchester United.

David Moyes has relied heavily on Garner throughout the campaign as the midfielder has taken his game to another level.

It really has been an impressive 2025/26 campaign for the 25-year-old, who will be hoping to mark his success through a call-up to the England squad this week.

What would you say to Angus Kinnear after THAT loss to Sunderland? 😤

Something has to change… 😭

Sky Sports name Everton’s James Garner as perfect Man United signing

Cole Palmer hailed Garner as his toughest opponent this season after being tasked with man-marking the Chelsea midfielder.

A piece from Sky Sports has highlighted Garner as a suitable candidate to potentially replace the Brazilian midfielder in the coming months.

Along with Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson, Garner has been eyed by Man United earlier in the season as a possible target.

The 25-year-old has nailed down his spot in the Everton starting XI, which has caught the attention of clubs far and wide.

However, Everton acted decisively by rewarding Garner with a bumper new deal back in January.

Man United fans emotionally bid farewell to Casemiro in their final home game of the season on Sunday, four years on from his £70m move.

The veteran is going to leave a big hole in the Man United squad ahead of next season, with Kobbie Mainoo and Garner eyed as a homegrown duo at Old Trafford.

A possible summer move cannot be ruled out for any player at Everton, but it would take serious money to prise Garner away at this stage in his contract.

A phone call will be on the player’s mind this week, with the opportunity to play in the World Cup overshadowing any potential thoughts of his next move.
