Everton fans are growing concerned about the direction their side are heading in under Sean Dyche, and now one player has come out and spoke negatively about the Southampton performance.

A number of decisions have made Everton supporters start to question Sean Dyche over the last week or so, with the defeat to Southampton certainly not helping things.

Michael Ball has slammed Sean Dyche for his decision not to play Jarrad Branthwaite at the weekend, stating that it’s turning the players and fans against him.

We have to agree, as Branthwaite has looked like Everton’s best defender this season, yet he’s played around six minutes of action in the last two games.

It appears as if one Everton player isn’t happy with things at the moment, as Jesper Lindstrom has made a brutally honest admission.

Jesper Lindstrom makes brutally honest admission on Everton loss to Southampton

Lindstrom, who joined Napoli for £25 million, was gifted a start against Southampton last time out, and to be fair to him he didn’t stop running his socks off but couldn’t influence the game too much.

It’s clear he wants to play for the badge though, which is all you can ask for, as he made an interesting comment on the result after the match.

As per Liverpool Echo, Lindstrom didn’t hold back on his thoughts.

“S**t! Sorry. We want to win games, we want to win points, we want to win games like this. It’s not good enough. Overall we have to demand more of each other. We have to train hard, we have to keep going.

“The first half especially was not good enough, was not what we expected. We are a much better team than we showed.

“The second half was better we were running more, fighting more, creating chances. I think we deserved at least a point with all the chances but on the other hand I don’t think we deserved it because I know we can play much better than we did.

“In the first half, we were too far from each other. From my perspective, my touches were not great.

“It was better in the second half. We created good chances receiving the ball high but didn’t have the last part, the shot.”

Everton fans react to Jesper Lindstrom’s comments

These Everton fans, when speaking on X, agreed with Lindstrom and want him to continue to start ahead of Jack Harrison, as well as a couple of fans worrying he’ll be dropped for the comment.

“Well that’ll get him dropped for sure. It was good enough according Dyche because “we didn’t get torn apart through the middle.”, @TheJacko1878 said.

@nothinkbuttheb1 likes the attitude: “Good on him. Put that attitude to that of his manager that perpetuates that we’re essentially a League One side playing Man City every week and making excuses.”

@adamgray50 stated: “Hopefully keeps starting over Harrison a run of games and hopefully he gets into form.”

@ElliottMcD16 mentioned: “Dyche trying to cancel his loan soon as he sees this.”

“I like him more and more as the weeks go by.”, @MeerdsBeards loved that a player is calling things out.

@PatrickCadwall3 commented: “Fair play to him.”
