Everton return to Premier League action tonight, and host bottom club Wolves.

After falling to a 4-2 defeat against Brentford at the weekend, the Toffees have the opportunity to bounce back quickly at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton were poor at the weekend against the Bees with a number of players struggling, and David Moyes will want a big response tonight against a side who have fallen way below expectations this season.

What changes would you make for Wolves? 🤔

That said, Wolves have just come into a little bit of form in recent weeks, taking four points from their last two Premier League games and also playing well against Liverpool despite losing.

Rob Edwards has spoken of the challenge of facing Everton though, and Moyes needs to ensure his opposite number’s concerns are not misplaced.

And one man who could be key tonight for Everton is Jack Grealish, who is actually now gunning to equal a club record.

On Sunday there were a lot of poor performers, but Grealish chipped in with a couple of assists.

His cross found Beto, who turned in well with a header into the far corner.

Then in injury time, he showed some good footwork to create a bit of space, before crossing to the back post for Thierno Barry to score.

That took his tally of assists in the Premier League to six this season.

Heading into tonight’s game with Wolves, Grealish could actually equal the assists record for players in a debut season for Everton.

Previously, as per BBC Sport, two players have managed seven in their first season in the Premier League with Everton. They were Peter Beardsley (1992/93) and Nick Barmby (1996/97).

But the man who holds the record number of assists in a first Premier League campaign for Everton is Andrei Kanchelskis, who registered eight in the 1995/96 season.

Grealish has obviously made a habit of getting two assists in games this season, having done so three times, so he stands a reasonable chance of matching that Kanchelskis record tonight.

Grealish could get joy vs Wolves

Wolves have improved recently, but there is still a decent chance for Grealish to get joy tonight.

The winger will play from the left side, and he will likely either come up against Jackson Tchatchoua or Ki-Jana Hoever, both of whom have faced criticism this season, with neither nailing down the right wing-back position.

Matt Doherty is also an option to play there, but has spent most of his time playing on the right of a back three of late.

Two of Grealish’s six assists this term did actually come against Wolves in the reverse fixture back in August.

He was outstanding that day, and Evertonians would love nothing more than for him to turn in a similar display tonight.
