The Friedkin Group already have an ‘ideal’ manager plan in mind at Everton

Despite all he has done for the club during his short spell in charge, Sean Dyche is a polarising figure at Everton.

After all, his footballing philosophy is one that does split opinions, with many respecting his uncompromising view on the sport, whilst others lambast the sluggish and at times negative nature of it.

Goodison Park doesn’t demand much, but seeing their team routinely surrender possession to the visitors often leaves many disgruntled, breeding a nervous, brooding atmosphere.

With that, the fact that Dyche’s contract is due to expire soon is something that will be of real interest to Dan Friedkin.

The latest on Sean Dyche’s Everton future revealed

Just after Graeme Bailey provided an update on Michael Keane’s Everton future, with his contract dwindling, the well-respected reporter then turned his attention to Dyche.

After all, his is another contract set to expire this summer, with the Friedkin Group not expected to renew it as they seek to stamp their own claim on the club.

In fact, speaking exclusively to Everton.News, Bailey revealed the ‘ideal’ plan they hope to follow regarding the Everton manager‘s future.

He noted: ‘I think obviously with how poor at least two of the relegated teams are, I think relegation isn’t really a concern. They’ll give him until January.

‘We know Dyche clearly still isn’t a long-term one.

‘From what I’m hearing, if they can get through with Dyche until they’re ready to appoint that new name, which should ideally be next summer ahead of the new stadium, then that’s what they’ll do.

‘That’s the ideal scenario for them and that was always the case.

‘They were never desperate to get rid of him. The start that the club had was poor and they had to do their due diligence and look into possible options. They’ve got a lot of balls in the air at the moment. They’re happy for Dyche to continue there and guide them to safety.’

Sean Dyche has been just what Everton needed

Whether he leaves in the summer or not, few can discredit what Dyche has accomplished at Everton.

After all, he inherited a mess, and has somehow made sense of it all.

When appointed in January 2023, Everton sat 19th in the Premier League after 20 games. They would somehow survive that campaign, but the worst was yet to come.

The following season saw the Toffees dealt with two separate points deductions which eventually totalled eight points stolen.

And yet, they would avoid the drop again, by some distance this time. Were it not for those punishments, Dyche would have led Everton to 12th in the league.

This ongoing term might not have gone to plan, but after a rough start they are back on track once again, poised to once again achieve safety.

Should he leave this summer, he should be celebrated as the man who saved Everton from certain doom and stabilised them during a time of immense turmoil.
