The Friedkin Group set for almost identical Everton introduction to Farhad Moshiri

The Friedkin Group have finally completed their takeover of Everton.

After agreeing a deal with Farhad Moshiri in September, the American investors have been working relentlessly to finalise the deal and Premier League approval was granted last week.

Everton announced the news on Thursday morning, as the club statement read:

“Everton Football Club has been acquired by Roundhouse Capital Holdings Limited (Roundhouse), an entity within The Friedkin Group (TFG).

“The transaction was finalised following an agreement between Farhad Moshiri’s Blue Heaven Holdings (BHH) and Roundhouse for the sale of BHH’s majority stake in the Club.”

The Friedkin’s are expected to be in the stands at Goodison Park this weekend as Sean Dyche’s men play host to Chelsea.

That said, the parallels to Moshiri’s Everton introduction in 2016 are almost identical.

Friedkin Group’s first Everton game will be identical to Farhad Moshiri

Farhad Moshiri became Everton owner in February 2016 and his first game was against Chelsea a couple of weeks later, at Goodison Park.

The Toffees won 2-0 that day, with Romelu Lukaku scoring a brace to send the hosts into the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

Now, almost nine years later, Moshiri has sold the club to the Friedkin’s, whose welcome match will be against Chelsea, at Goodison Park.

This time, however, it comes in the Premier League and the stakes are perhaps a little higher, with Everton languishing just above the relegation zone.

The Friedkin’s will be hopeful of a similar result.

Goodison Park will be rocking vs Chelsea

It’s set to be a vociferous atmosphere at Goodison Park on Sunday as Everton fans welcome their new owners.

A win could put them six points clear of the relegation zone heading into Christmas, so there’s plenty of incentive for Sean Dyche’s men.

Chelsea head into the clash in fine form, though, having won five games on the bounce, leaving them in second place.

So it certainly won’t be an easy afternoon for Everton.
