After Everton’s 4-0 defeat to Manchester United on the weekend, the pressure ramped up a notch on manager Sean Dyche.

Everton have now slumped to 17th in the Premier League table and could drop into the relegation zone this evening if they lose to Wolves.

Everton fans have long called for Dyche to be sacked and it’s thought the Friedkin Group have drawn up a three-man shortlist to replace him.

Though, for now, he’s expected to remain in post until the takeover is complete. Alan Myers predicts the Friedkin Group to finalise the deal next week.

Whilst that process unfolds behind the scenes, West Ham could be about to put a major spanner in the works of their managerial plans.

West Ham could be about to sack Julen Lopetegui

West Ham United suffered a 3-1 defeat to relegation-threatened Leicester City last night.

As such, The Hammers are considering sacking manager Julen Lopetegui, according to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth.

If they do dismiss Lopetegui, that could have a massive impact on the Friedkin Group’s managerial plans.

West Ham could try to appoint Sergio Conceicao, the former Porto manager who is currently out of work.

It’s understood Conceicao is the Friedkin Group’s number one choice to replace Dyche, so they could be about to miss out on his signature.

And it’s been confirmed that he’s in the running for the West Ham job.

So, Everton may have to alter their plans, if indeed, Dyche is to leave in the coming weeks.

Everton should pivot to Graham Potter

If West Ham end up nipping in front of Everton to get Conceicao, the Friedkin Group should pivot and make Graham Potter their number-one target.

Potter is the ideal man to lead a project but he’s also more than capable of getting instant results, so he’d be a great appointment.

He worked as a pundit during Leicester’s clash against West Ham United last night and admitted that he’s open to returning to the dugout.
