Everton are almost unrecognisable 12 months on from The Friedkin Group being handed the keys to the Merseyside club.

It is hard to believe that it has already been 365 days of The Friedkin Group as the Blues have taken some huge strides forward both on and off the pitch.

David Moyes’ return to the club marked the first landmark decision made by the American owners, which came just weeks into their tenure.

The 62-year-old’s return aside, the biggest change on Merseyside has been the opening of the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

A project that was started by Farhad Moshiri, but the Friedkins have turned the Hill Dickinson Stadium into a revenue-generating powerhouse for Everton.

For many, leaving Goodison Park behind will have been emotional, but the Old Lady still stands strong and is set for some much-needed investment.

Friedkin Group prepared to invest in Everton’s Goodison Park

Earlier in the year, the decision was made to move Everton’s Women into Goodison Park as a means to keep the historic home of the Blues alive.

However, even the die-hard lovers of the Old Lady have to admit that there are some big upgrades needed to make the stadium compatible with the modern day.

According to The Athletic, there is an acknowledgment inside Everton that investment is going to be needed at Goodison.

Women-specific facilities are now needed inside Goodison not only for the players, but also for the increased female-orientated fan base the WSL brings.

The report claims the club are now delving into the habits of the match-going supporters to identify where the club’s money could best be used.

Some Everton fans are still waiting on their Goodison Park seat which they purchased earlier in the summer following the move.

Changes have been made both internally and externally in L4, but more is going to be needed to improve the matchday experience for those who attend WSL matches.

Goodison Park move has transformed Everton

There is no doubt that the move from Goodison to the Hill Dickinson has been a revelation for the club.

Just last week, the Hill Dickinson Stadium was crowned Project of the Year as it beat Fulham’s Riverside Stand to the prestigious award.

Financially speaking, the new home of the Blues has been an absolute game-changer with so many new revenue streams coming from the state-of-the-art stadium.

Everton will host at Euro 2028 and there are some major events set to be held in the years before the international football tournament.

The Hill Dickinson Stadium has put Everton firmly on the map, but the Friedkins will not leave Goodison Park in the past.
