Everton have been crying out for new full-backs for a while now.
The Toffees have had Jake O’Brien playing at right-back for the most part this season and while he’s done well, the consensus is that he needs to be playing in the middle.
Which of these players do you want to see Everton SIGN in 2026?
The following names have been suggested by fans on TalkingPoints…
O’Brien is naturally a centre-back, and his partnership with Jarrad Branthwaite needs to be given a chance to develop.
On the left side, David Moyes has used Vitalii Mykolenko almost exclusively, with summer signing Adam Aznou completely unfancied.
There have been some links to new leFt-backs, with Everton said to have shown interest in Myles Lewis-Skelly this year.
Now, journalist Ben Jacobs has given a new update on him and Everton’s stance on new full-backs.
Everton more keen for new right-back

Ben Jacobs has suggested that out of the two full-back positions, the club are currently more keen to sign a player for the right side.
Giving an update on Lewis-Skelly, Jacobs said on The United Stand: “Myles Lewis-Skelly is still the one that I keep hearing. I know we heard reports the other day about Everton coming in the mix.
“Not quite my understanding, although Everton are going to be in the market for a full-back. But actually with Everton, I’m told they want more of a right-sided player, potentially, and maybe younger and for the future.
“It’s not to say that left isn’t important to them too.”
The update comes after Everton were linked with another new right-back yesterday.
Supposedly, Neco Williams of Nottingham Forest is a player of interest.
There have also been links to the likes of Ben White, Rico Lewis and Brooke Norton-Cuffy this year.
Vitalii Mykolenko’s new contract is clearly close
For Everton to be prioritising a right-back more than a left-back perhaps indicates that a new contract for Vitalii Mykolenko is close.
It was reported earlier this month that Everton were closing in on extending Mykolenko’s contract, so it may well be that an announcement on that will come very soon.

Moyes has used Mykolenko heavily since he returned to the club, so it doesn’t really come as too much of a surprise.
But left-back is still a position that Everton need to be addressing this summer regardless of Mykolenko staying.
If Everton can add quality on both sides, this team could genuinely go to a higher level.
