Everton’s frustrating silence in the transfer window this month has been paired with the lack of outgoings, which should, all things considered, leave the fanbase at a net positive.
After all, this is a squad more than capable of avoiding the drop with ease, as without their ten-point deduction they would actually be 11 points clear of the relegation zone.
Although they are fighting a battle with the Premier League as well as those down at the bottom with them, it is one Sean Dyche must have a quiet confidence in achieving should they enjoy another run akin to the one at the start of December.
However, to do that they must keep what they have, especially when it comes to their key assets.

Amadou Onana is one such name who continues to be linked with an exit, but the Toffees have finally been handed some positive transfer news, as one club can no longer compete for his services.
One less suitor to worry about!
Could Amadou Onana leave Everton?
Whilst there has almost been a constant worry regarding the future of the Belgium international, who has admitted he turned down moves in the summer, the widespread silence this January will likely be music to the ears of Evertonians.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona are just three high-profile outfits who have been linked with a swoop for their star midfielder, but this latest report from Belgian outlet Het Nieuwsblad has ruled out the former.

They suggest that the club have ‘put the brakes on’ any transfer activity due to their precarious financial position, with these ‘limitations’ meaning they ‘cannot push’ to sign the £60m-rated Onana from Everton, even if it is claimed that he wants to go.
Whilst it does not detail a specific sale they are targeting, it does claim that they would certainly have to offload one or two stars before welcoming in such a big name.
With just over a week left of the window, such a swift turnaround seems highly unlikely now, meaning the 22-year-old seems set to stay.
Who are Everton being linked with signing?
Much like the north London outfit, it is unlikely we will see any incomings at Everton until there is a significant departure.

That has not stopped the rumour mill from turning though, with Jarrad Branthwaite one such name who could fund a whole host of new signings.
Turkish teenager Can Uzun is one name being linked with a move, whilst Jhon Cordoba also adorns their reported list of striker targets.
From within the Premier League, Frank Onyeka has caught the club’s eye, but his £20m price tag would prove far too lofty for Everton at this moment.
