Everton have officially completed the signing of Thierno Barry from Villarreal.
The Toffees finally have their first new face through the door, with the France U21 international looking to compete with Beto for a starting spot.
After weeks of speculation, Beto is officially now a Toffee, and fans can’t wait to watch him in action.
Barry scored 11 goals for Villarreal last term, which followed eight he got for Basel beforehand.
Everton did struggle at times in the final third last season, and hopefully Barry – who is a first-time finishing specialist – will increase the firepower.

Thierno Barry says scoring goals is his ‘meal’ and his ‘food’ as he completes Everton move

Everton have forked out £27 million for Barry.
This is slightly less than the player’s release clause, and hopefully he will prove to be excellent value for money.
There will be big expectations, because Barry’s fee places him in the top 10 of Everton’s most expensive signings ever.
Barry has given his first interview to Everton’s media team, and one thing is extremely apparent – the man has an insatiable appetite for scoring goals.
He said: “On the pitch I always give 100%. I always want to score, and to help the team to win.
“And I think that is my character. For me, this is my meal, my food! When I score, I’m very happy. So yeah, I give 100% on the pitch.”
Barry looking to follow Romelu Lukaku example at Everton
With Barry standing at 6ft 5in tall, there will likely be a fair few comparisons to Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku was a huge hit for Everton during his time at the club, scoring 87 goals in 166 games for the club.
On his day, the Belgian was unplayable – and fans would love to hope that Barry could be the same.
And he is looking to follow the example of Lukaku, telling the club’s media team: “I just want to be like these players, like Lukaku for example.
“He did very good seasons here, and I want to take him like an example, and I want to do the same.”
