Everton fans are already looking forward to the summer transfer window – and one player is making a strong case to be the subject of a pursuit by David Moyes.
One of the biggest issues this season for Everton has been the scoring of goals.
In the final third, the Toffees have often lacked quality, much to the frustration of fans.
Granted, this has become much less of an issue since David Moyes came in, with Beto in particular having really found form.
But there is still a feeling within the fanbase that Everton are much stronger at the back than they are in attack.
And it hasn’t just been down to forwards misfiring – it’s been as much about Everton just not creating enough chances.
But one man who could really help with this next season is Rayan Cherki, who Everton are thought to be interested in.
The statistic that Everton have got to sign Rayan Cherki

Rayan Cherki is enjoying a brilliant season over in France with Lyon.
The 21-year-old is in particularly good for just at the moment having scored six goals and supplied two assists in his last five Ligue 1 games.
He is giving Lyon a fighting chance of finishing in the top four – at the moment, they’re sixth and four points behind AS Monaco.
Cherki is regularly standing out for Lyon in what is really a breakout season for him, and there is one statistic that really should make David Moyes sit up and take note.
And it was offered today on X by Squawka.
At this stage of the season, Cherki has completed an impressive 11 through balls – no player across Europe’s top five leagues has managed more in the league than that.
This clearly indicates that Cherki is a creative force, and suggests he would be a major upgrade on Jack Harrison – a player who has often been maligned by fans this season for poor performances.
By comparison, Harrison has managed just three through balls in the league this term. He also has zero assists, to Cherki’s 14.
Cherki would be a statement signing by Everton who’d light up Bramley-Moore Dock
There is a lot of optimism for Everton fans at the moment ahead of the summer and what could happen under The Friedkin Group in their first summer at the club.
PSR won’t be an issue this time around, and Moyes will supposedly be given a healthy budget to work with.
But that said, Cherki supposedly has an £18.6 million release clause in his Lyon contract – so that makes him a serious bargain.
This is a player who makes things happen in the final third, something Everton have really lacked. And not only that, he’s a real maverick with an extremely entertaining style of play, and someone who’ll get fans on their feet with his tricks.
He mainly plays from the right and so, he would be a big upgrade on Harrison, who surely will not be bought permanently after his struggles this term.
Cherki is likely to have a lot of interest this summer. But if Moyes wants to get the Bramley-Moore Dock era off to a top start, he’ll endeavour to beat the competition to Cherki this summer.
