Jordan Pickford ended November by scooping the Premier League Save of the Month award.

November was a mixed month for Everton’s shot-stopper, with fans criticising Jordan Pickford after a costly mistake in the 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United.

But just days earlier, Pickford was outstanding at Old Trafford as 10-man Everton beat Manchester United 1-0.

Jordan Pickford made six saves to keep a clean sheet against the Red Devils, including a stunning stop to deny Everton target Joshua Zirkzee from scoring.

It has now been confirmed that Pickford was awarded the Premier League Save of the Month for his efforts.

Winning in November means Pickford has now won three Premier League Save of the Month awards throughout his career.

It brings him level with former Manchester United shot-stopper Andre Onana for the most wins.

Before Pickford’s brilliant save against Zirkzee, his previous Save of the Month award came in January 2024 against Fulham, when he expertly denied Tosin Adarabioyo’s header.

Pickford’s first award came in the Merseyside derby in September 2022 when he turned Darwin Nunez’s effort onto the crossbar.

Last month, Ben Foster called Pickford ‘criminally underrated’, and the stats certainly suggest that is the case.

Not only has Pickford made the case to be one of England’s best-ever goalkeepers in history, but his record in the Premier League is also outstanding.

The 31-year-old has kept 93 clean sheets in 340 Premier League appearances, and Pickford’s penalty record is also among the best.

Pickford does have a mistake in him from time to time, but he has been a key player in Everton’s growth since he signed back in 2017.
