Everton have endured a difficult season so far.

Despite avoiding relegation with ease last term, Sean Dyche’s men have fallen back into the scrap as they’ve really struggled to score goals.

Only Southampton have scored fewer goals in the Premier League than Everton this season, so evidently that’s an area which needs addressing.

Dan Ashworth could be the man to lead that recruitment process, as he’s being tipped to replace Kevin Thelwell as the sporting director.

Ashworth recently left Manchester United after five months at the club and is expected to garner widespread interest.

If Everton do land his highly sought-after signature, here are the three signings he should make at Goodison Park.

Three signings Dan Ashworth should make at Everton

Evan Ferguson

During Ashworth’s successful spell at Brighton and Hove Albion, he unearthed Evan Ferguson from Irish club Bohemians.

Ferguson has since established himself as one of the most promising centre-forwards in Europe, though, he hasn’t been getting the regular game time to showcase that.

As such, Brighton are willing to send Ferguson on loan in January, and Ashworth should certainly try to reunite with him at Goodison Park.

Harvey Barnes

Ashworth and Eddie Howe worked together to sign Harvey Barnes at Newcastle following Leicester City’s relegation from the Premier League.

Barnes’ minutes have been limited yet the jet-heeled wide player has still managed to net five times in just six league starts this term.

Newcastle are considering selling him this winter, according to The i Paper, so Everton should position themselves in the race to land his signature.

Barnes would bring a totally new dimension to Dyche’s front line.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall enjoyed a sensational season at Leicester last term, registering a whopping 26 goal involvements in the Championship.

That earned him a £30m switch to Chelsea in the summer, however, like the aforementioned pair, his opportunities have been scarce.

So, Chelsea could be willing to move him out the door in January and perhaps Everton can get him for a discounted fee.

The Toffees need more goals in their midfield and Dewsbury-Hall certainly has the ability to add that.
