Everton fans will have seen Carlo Ancelotti go on to do great things after Goodison Park, but it’s not going great for him at the moment at Real Madrid.

Carlo Ancelotti left Everton in June 2021 after 18 months on Merseyside. During that time he guided the Toffees to respective 12th and 10th-placed finishes.

He’s gone on to win two Champions League trophies since joining Real Madrid, as well as many other honours, including the UEFA Super Cup.

One of the players under him during his time at Goodison Park was Theo Walcott, who joined from Arsenal in 2018.

Walcott was a fairly decent signing for Everton but he was never quite able to replicate the performances we saw from him at Arsenal, as consistency was an issue.

Interestingly, the former winger brought up his time at Everton and used Carlo Ancelotti as a reference point last night when providing insight into the Champions League result for Real Madrid.

Theo Walcott makes Carlo Ancelotti joke at Everton’s expense

Theo has opted to go down the route of punditry after retiring from football, which now sees him work for broadcasters such as the BBC.

Interestingly, he was chosen to be in the studio to react to games in the Champions League version of Match of the Day last night.

Real Madrid happened to lose to AC Milan 3-1 on Tuesday night, with former Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti currently in charge of the Spanish club.

Having played under Ancelotti, Walcott had this to say as a joke about the former boss and his time at Everton.

“Carlo Ancelotti had a difficult time at Everton. He didn’t have the personnel. I was one of them.”

Carlo Ancelotti’s Michael Keane admission that everyone is now noticing

Michael Keane’s shooting has been a hot topic at Everton this season after his goal against Ipswich.

Dwight McNeil named Keane as the best player when it comes to shooting at Everton earlier on in the current campaign.

Well, Carlo Ancelotti was one of the first to speak out about Keane’s shooting ability, as he called the defender the best finisher at the club.
