Everton made a mistake with their nurturing of Isaac Price during his time at the club.
The youngster was showing promising signs and even got Frank Lampard suggesting Price has ‘everything’.
As an academy graduate coming through, this is exactly what you want to hear, but it just wasn’t meant to be for the 21-year-old.
Price could have stayed if Lampard hadn’t been sacked, as the former Everton manager was clearly a big part of the player’s game.
Nevertheless, the midfielder chose to leave after limited game time, and he continues to prove the Toffees wrong with another stunning milestone.

Everton fans shocked they released Isaac Price after he scored against Germany

This has since led him to West Brom after completing a £2.5 million move in January 2025, and this season, he’s been a revelation, with fans blown away by Price.
Price has since brought his quality to Northern Ireland, and on Sunday night, scored a remarkable goal against Germany.
This was his tenth goal already for the senior team, and at the age of just 21, Everton fans have been left baffled by his release on X.
“How on earth did we let this Isaac Price go, looks a very good player,” one Everton supporter said, with another agreeing: “Everton could of got a lot more money for Price than we did.”
A concerned fan suggested, “Think we may have fumbled with Isaac Price,” as another claimed it was the right decision for the youngster, “Defo, but we couldn’t give him the games he wanted.”
“Any buy-back clauses?” an Evertonian said, as it’s clear the youngster has thrived since he left Goodison Park: “Two years in Belgium were exactly what he needed to develop.”
It’s a decision that seemed out of the club’s hands with Price wanting to pursue his career, and it looks wise from the youngster, and surely Everton will meet him once again.
