Everton News’ finance expert Adam Williams believes the World Cup has certainly played its part in clubs having to find alternative plans to playing in the United States.
“This summer, it’s a World Cup year, which complicates things somewhat. You’ll have Everton players coming back at different stages, some of whom will need more rest than others,” he said.
“I think we’ll see fewer of the more extravagant pre-season tours as a result.”
It will be an opportunity for the club to provide opportunities to some of the promising youngsters coming through the ranks, though.
