Everton fans are hoping to see the club enjoy a positive January transfer window following the takeover by The Friedkin Group.
Everton are loitering just above the relegation zone right now, and are just two points clear.
Quite simply, Everton have got to recruit in January – and fans are really hoping to see someone come in who can address the team’s struggles in the final third.
Everton are the second-lowest scorers in the Premier League right now, having hit just 15 goals in 18 matches.
Apparently, Everton are in the mix for Jaden Philogene, having seen a bid turned down for him in July.
And he’s perhaps someone The Friedkin Group should be making a big effort to bring in given what Tim Howard has previously said about the player.
What Tim Howard said about Jaden Philogene – he could be perfect for Everton and Sean Dyche

Philogene signed for Aston Villa in 2018, joining from the Pro:Direct Academy in London.
The youngster went out on loan a couple of times to Stoke City and Cardiff City before signing for Hull City permanently.
After impressing there, Philogene then sealed a return to Villa, who had enacted a first-refusal clause as Ipswich Town tried to sign him. Due to a sell-on clause, Villa got him back for about £13.5 million.
But this term, Philogene has struggled for minutes and is now available for loan, and former Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard’s praise from him in July 2023 will excite some Toffees fans.
He said (via Sky Sports): “If [Unai] Emery wants my opinion, this kid is ready. I mean he’s electric, he’s fun to watch, always on the front foot.
“And by the way, we’ve seen in the other games, he’s very willing to do the dirty work and track back and get on the hip of his outside defender and that’s what you want from a young player.”
Yunus Akgun of Galatasaray is another winger who’s been linked with Everton, as TFG seek to make attacking additions.
Everton could also move for Rayan Cherki, with the Toffees having only done business with Lyon a few months ago over Orel Mangala.
Everton should endeavour to sign Philogene
Seemingly, Villa are keen for Philogene to play but just can’t offer him regular minutes at the moment.
Most of his 15 appearances this season have come off the bench, but Everton could be a good fit for him.
The issue though is that Everton would need to free up one of their two domestic loan spots in order to bring him in on loan. Currently, they are being filled by Jack Harrison and Armando Broja.
It’s come to light that Leeds United don’t have the option to recall Harrison this month.
But one wonders if Everton could perhaps negotiate some kind of compensation package with Leeds.
With Philogene being both electric and not afraid of doing the dirty work, he could be a really good fit in this team under Dyche.
He scored 12 goals on loan at Hull last term so he’s also got an eye for goal which would surely be very appealing to Everton right now.
