Everton are looking to strengthen their squad this January transfer window, with a number of areas that need addressing.

First and foremost, David Moyes has made a striker a top priority, with the likes of Artem Dovbyk, Troy Parrott, and Joshua Zirkzee linked.

A full-back is also on the agenda, and Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson has been mooted to return to Merseyside.

A fresh report has emerged linking Everton with a midfielder, and former Toffees star Tom Cleverley has already given his seal of approval on the transfer.

Everton are reportedly interested in Imran Louza as Moyes looks to bolster his midfield ranks this winter window.

Louza was managed by former Toffees midfielder Tom Cleverley at Watford and he was blown away by the Morocco international’s talent.

Speaking earlier this year, Cleverley told the Watford Observer: “He has been magnificent and for me is one of the best midfielders in the league. We have created a game plan to get him starting a lot of our attacks and controlling our builds.

“We’ve tried to play to his strengths, but what has really impressed me about Imran has been his leadership qualities. He’s stuck his neck out as a leader and a vocal one at that. He cares a lot about how well we’re doing.

“What people don’t understand sometimes is when a player is maybe not double aggressive in a challenge, they think they’re not good out of possession. But Imran is. He understands where he needs to be, he can cover the ground.”

Tom Cleverley could help to strike Imran Louza deal

Cleverley could actually play a role in Louza’s potential transfer to Everton this month, as he could be the middleman, considering he knows both sides.

It wouldn’t at all be surprising if Louza sought the opinion of Cleverley before deciding whether to join the Toffees, or the other three interested Premier League clubs.

Brighton and Hove Albion, Fulham and Brentford are also looking at a deal to sign the 26-year-old midfielder.

As well as Louza, Everton are also eyeing a move for Kobbie Mainoo, although Manchester United are only open to a loan.

United would also prefer to do a temporary deal with a foreign club.
