The Friedkin Group’s decision to bring back David Moyes has turned out to be an inspired choice.

At the time, some neutrals looked at the appointment as underwhelming, considering how David Moyes’ West Ham United tenure ended.

But, looking at how West Ham have got on since he left, it’s clear Moyes remains one of the best managers in the Premier League and is proving that to be the case at Everton.

Since Moyes’ return on January 11th, the Toffees have won more points than the likes of Newcastle United and would only be two behind Chelsea in fifth.

However, a small minority were questioning Moyes after last night’s 1-1 draw against West Ham United and Tony Bellew was asked live on talkSPORT if he’d take Oliver Glasner over the Scotsman right now.

Tony Bellew on whether he’d take Oliver Glasner over David Moyes

After a few question marks about Moyes on talkSPORT’s show, Jamie O’Hara asked Bellew if he’d take Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner at Everton.

“I wouldn’t swap him for anyone mate,” Bellew replied. “He’s the perfect man for the job, gets the club, understands us, knows us.

“I’m telling you guys, what he done at West Ham, he can more than do at Everton. You just need time and you’ve got to back the manager. This revolving door with managers has got to stop.

“Getting him home is the best move they’ve done in a long time and it was an absolute disgrace that the former management of the club never brought him back, it was an absolute disgrace.

“He should have come back way way way before he finally did, but the jokes who were in the hierarchy at time, didn’t allow it and that’s what it all came down to mate.”

David Moyes is the perfect manager for Everton

Moyes has more than proven that he’s the right man for the job and even after a few disappointing results, his side are still within touching distance of the European spots.

That’s where the Scotsman wants to be come the end of the season, and once the likes of Tyler Dibling, Merlin Rohl and Adam Aznou get up to speed, the squad will look a lot stronger.

There’s still lots of room for growth and clearly as the style starts to shift from last season, a few teething issues have arisen.

Moyes has always been clear that it will take time to rebuild the club back to where it previously was during his first spell.
