Everton had their first night game at the new Hill Dickinson Stadium against West Ham United last night.

Everton went ahead through Michael Keane and the atmosphere was electric, however, they struggled to kick on and West Ham managed to fight back and earn a point.

Whilst it wasn’t the result David Moyes and his players wanted, it was certainly exciting to see the new 52,000-seater under the lights.

West Ham United fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, after the game to give their verdict on the Hill Dickinson.

West Ham United give verdict on Everton’s new stadium

West Ham fans have aimed a lot of criticism at their board for the decision to move into the London Stadium, which many argue isn’t fit for purpose for a football club.

Everton’s, meanwhile, appears to be everything they want to have.

@Billzy88 posted: “Some stadium that! Proper stadium. How it should be. Fair play to Everton. They’ve got a proper club there. Anyway, Irons!”

“It looks a million times better than the s—- Sullivan sold our soul to move in to,” @Patroit_Nath admitted.

@CasperJarrott simply said: “Puts ours to shame.”

@paulnobbyturner added: “A football stadium, built for football!”

Everton’s new stadium will ease PSR concerns

Ultimately, first and foremost, the new stadium is about the fan experience and retaining that Goodison Park atmosphere.

It seems that’s been a success and also from a financial aspect, the Hill Dickinson is completely transforming the club.

Everton’s new stadium could generate an extra £40m-a-year in revenue, so PSR concerns should be a thing of the past.

There have been some complaints about the transport in and out of the ground, so there are still some issues to resolve and improve.
