Seamus Coleman received a Guard of Honour from everyone at Everton on Friday as he prepares to leave the Toffees this summer.

The Republic of Ireland international was applauded by what appeared to be everybody who works at Finch Farm on a daily basis, while his partner and children were also present to put the icing on the cake of the Guard of Honour.

After watching footage of the moment, Tony Hibbert reacted on Instagram using just a single word.

Where will Everton be in the table by 6pm on Sunday afternoon? 🥲

The Blues could finish as low as 14th… 😫

Tony Hibbert calls Seamus Coleman “class” after Guard of Honour

The man who made 329 appearances for Everton was delighted to see his former teammate Coleman honoured in this manner at Finch Farm – and used the word “class” to react to the scenes.

Hibbert and Coleman made 43 appearances together for the Toffees, the first of which was a UEFA Europa League clash against Benfica in the 2009/10 campaign.

They played their final match together for Everton in a 1-0 loss to Manchester City in the 2014/15 season.

Other big names reacted to the footage from Finch Farm. Shay Given wrote “what a man” after watching Coleman deliver a speech, as Idrissa Gueye and Djibril Sidibe posted blue heart emojis to show their love.

Yerry Mina also appeared in the comments section, posting an applauding emoji to congratulate the 37-year-old on his career at Everton.

Previously, almost the entire Everton squad posted emotional messages to Coleman immediately after he revealed he would be leaving at the end of the season.

The widespread reaction to his departure just goes to show how popular the Everton No.23 really is, and it will take some effort for the Toffees to replace a character like him.

There has already been a move for a replacement from The Friedkin Group – however – as Everton open talks with Kieran Trippier ahead of a potential free transfer.
