Everton fans have rather taken to Carlos Alcaraz since he signed for the club in January.
Alcaraz was Everton’s only signing of the winger window, joining on loan from Brazilian club Flamengo.
Moyes was reluctant to spend money for Everton just for the sake of it, and didn’t want to bring in players with money tight and lingering concerns about PSR.
But Carlos Alcaraz was one player Everton did get over the line, and so far the Argentine has made a decent impression at Goodison Park.
He’s made seven appearances up to now, three of which have been starts.
Everton hold an option to buy Alcaraz this summer, and there have been some suggestions the club will actually be obligated to buy him if he plays a certain amount of minutes.
It has been suggested that Flamengo aren’t too happy with Everton’s management of Alcaraz so far, with the Brazilian club believing the Toffees may be trying to renegotiate his fee this summer.
Seemingly, Everton and The Friedkin Group could be trying to U-turn on the initial deal negotiated for Alcaraz – or so that is how Flamengo see it.
And fans are also concerned about some comments made by Flamengo’s sporting director Jose Boto.
Everton fans adamant over Carlos Alcaraz after apparent U-turn by the Friedkins and Jose Boto comments

Jose Boto has suggested that Alcaraz will be moving on this summer, but hinted there is interest from other clubs.
He said: “I can’t predict the future, but I’m convinced he’ll stay in England,” Boto said.
“Either at Everton or at another club, because we’ve had enquiries from other clubs since he arrived in England.
“He’s an excellent player for that type of game. I think it’s unlikely he’ll return to Flamengo because he’ll certainly have a market in the Premier League.”
On social media, Everton fans have reacted to these comments and situation over Alcaraz.
@leebowski1223 said: “He’s easily worth £15m, I’d sweeten it and go a bit higher, maybe £18m – £20m to make sure we get the deal done, he’s been class for us so far.”
@dfurfpup added: “Just pay it, what an utterly ridiculous club we are.”
@nebula1979 said: “I’m genuinely baffled by the thought that the club would even try + backpedal on an already agreed plumb deal for a player of his age/ability level, who we’d be daft to not want to sign. These sort of shenanigans makes the club look 1. untrustworthy + 2. cheap. £15m is a bargain.”
@merseyfit said: “Get it done £15 million is an absolute steal!!!”
Everton cannot fumble Carlos Alcaraz
It’s a small sample size so far, but Alcaraz looks like a player Everton should be signing.
The Argentine has shown creativity and tenacity so far, and with Abdoulaye Doucoure looking likely to leave Everton this summer, he surely has to be retained.
Thankfully, there have been suggestions that Everton do see Alcaraz as a successor to Doucoure.
He’s settled quickly and appears to really enjoy being at the club.
Potentially, Alcaraz is someone who could one day enjoy cult hero status given the way he plays, so hopefully there’s no funny business this summer regarding that buy option/obligation.
