Everton fans are gearing up to go to Goodison Park for the final time this weekend.
The time that many people have been dreading has finally come, and Everton are taking on Southampton in their final home game of the season on Sunday.
It will be a final opportunity for fans to say their goodbyes to one of English football’s most iconic stadiums.
There will be plenty of tears, but there will undoubtedly also be a lot of excitement, with the move to Bramley-Moore Dock creeping ever closer.
Everton fans are hoping to see the Toffees win their final fixture at Goodison Park.
And really, they could not ask for a better opponent than rock-bottom Southampton, who have struggled all season.
That said, they did hold Manchester City at the weekend.
Everton fans are buzzing for the game itself, however, many aren’t too thrilled over who has been appointed as the referee.
Everton fans not happy as Michael Oliver given final Goodison Park game vs Southampton

It has been announced that Michael Oliver will referee Everton vs Southampton this Sunday at Goodison Park.
Oliver actually benefitted Everton the last time he refereed a game at Goodison.
That was against Liverpool, with Virgil van Dijk calling out Oliver over decisions he made in the 2-2 draw.
Despite that though, Everton fans are not exactly thrilled that he’ll be the man in the middle during the final contest at Goodison Park.
@myke_obrien said: “One final massive boooooooooooooo to end the last game.”
@myron1arabee added: “Is it too early to boo him?”
@thomok6 said: “Way to ruin the day.”
@feltch2505 added: “Ah. The Oliver show it is then.”
A brilliant occasion lies in store for Everton fans
Some are worried that Oliver will make the occasion about himself, but fans need not get too hung up about him.
Ultimately, it is not so much about the actual game on Sunday.
Sure, David Moyes will want to finish in the club’s current position of 13th, with prize money obviously getting lower further down.
But realistically there isn’t really anything riding on the game, and it is occasion for supporters to savour.
Hopefully, there will be no questionable decisions from Oliver to make Evertonians lose sight of that.
