Wayne Rooney has already given his verdict on Everton target Jack Grealish, ‘I’d love to manage him’

Much has been made of Jack Grealish’s potential move to Everton this summer, with the chances of it happening uncertain.

It would be an incredible reality if it did happen, but Grealish going to Everton has a 35% chance.

This doesn’t mean all hope should be lost, but it’s looking more and more likely that a loan deal for Grealish is the only outcome.

His excessive £300,000 wage could have a major role in making the deal not happen, as David Moyes will have to assess what’s right for the club.

Well, if it were down to former Everton player Wayne Rooney, he would snap him up in a heartbeat.

What Wayne Rooney thinks about Everton target Jack Grealish

There is no denying that there is a player in Grealish, but his time at Man City might have hindered his ability.

Pep Guardiola has left him in the dark for far too long, and for a player of his ability, he deserves a move.

With a £50m price tag on his head, it becomes clear that a loan is the only way forward for Moyes.

The winger showed brilliance during his time with Aston Villa, and he caught the eye of people during the EURO 2020 campaign with England as well.

Everton could have the chance to unlock the true potential of Grealish after his £100m move to City just hasn’t worked out.

Rooney was one of the keen-eyed viewers who admired the winger and spoke to The Times about how good he really is.

“Grealish commits defenders more, dragging them out of position, which will create space for other players,” Rooney said.

“I’d love to manage Grealish, and if I did, I’d encourage him to express himself, to not be afraid of mistakes or giving the ball away, especially in the final third.

“I’d also loved to have played with Jack. I was a player who studied defenders, and when Jack takes the ball and draws them out of position, I would have been looking to exploit the spaces they left.”

Everton need to find Grealish’s Aston Villa spark

It’s harsh to say his entire move to Manchester has been a complete failure, because it hasn’t.

With a treble to his name, it’s hard to make this claim; it just seems more was expected of the winger.

Guardiola letting him go says it all, and the winger needs an exciting project to be a part of, and ultimately be the face of.

Where better than the blue side of Merseyside, with Everton fans wanting Grealish to sign, and if he does, Moyes could bring the winger’s spark back from his time at Villa.

The deal happening is a long way away, but with a 35% chance at stake and Rooney’s comments, The Friedkin Group should try their absolute hardest to sign the City man.
