Everton are expected to be busy this summer transfer window.
The Friedkin Group have just banked around £140m in prize money and they’re prepared to hand David Moyes a healthy budget, with the Everton squad in need of a desperate overhaul.
The Toffees have already held talks with Liam Delap, who has a £30m relegation release clause in his Ipswich Town contract.
Everton have also been linked with a move for Jack Grealish, with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola willing to sanction his sale.
“Of course Jack has to play,” Guardiola said last week. “He’s an unbelievable player that has to play football every three days. It didn’t happen this season and last season either.
“He needs to do it. With us or another place. It’s a question for Jack, his agent and the club.”
Grealish was left out of Man City’s matchday squad on the weekend, which gives Everton real hope of landing his signature.
Toffees supporters have had a lot to say about the potential transfer.

Everton fans have a lot to say about transfer link to Jack Grealish
Everton fans have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, reacting to a potential Jack Grealish transfer this summer.
“What club is going to pay over £15m a year for a player they can’t even sell on? It’s unjustifiable given PSR constraints. This is the exact opposite of the deals Everton will seek to do,” @ClaudeBydicat explained.
“The clowns saying no are probably the ones who want to keep hold of Jack Harrison,” @kristianooo1 said.
@Harj_Badman added: “Good player but he slows down the play, especially on the counter attack.”
“He needs to be playing and at Everton he will be doing that, he will be a big player in any Everton side,” @bromley73 commented.
@dpatto69 posted: “If were going in on a Man City player on high wages for a loan I’d love John Stones.”
@GarethRoutledge asked: “Genuine question …..Who’s honestly saying no? And why?”
“No brainer,” @mkirbs_1878 said.
Grealish doesn’t align with the Friedkin Group’s recruitment strategy
The Friedkin Group are trying to drive down Everton’s average age this summer, as they currently have the third oldest aged squad in the Premier League.
| # | Club | Squad | Players used | Average age |
| 1 | Fulham FC | 26 | 26 | 27.8 |
| 2 | West Ham United | 27 | 27 | 27.8 |
| 3 | Everton | 25 | 26 | 27.6 |
The American investors want to focus on recruiting young and exciting talent, with the likes of Sunderland teenager Chris Rigg on the Toffees’ radar.
Everton are also looking at Stuttgart’s 23-year-old striker Nick Woltemade, but Arsenal have already made initial contact.
So, with all that said, it would be somewhat surprising if the Friedkins sanction a move for Grealish, who is approaching his 30th birthday and on substantial wages.
