Everton could be in the market for a new striker this summer – but a suggestion about Nicolas Jackson may make a swoop by the Toffees unlikely.
Everton have some difficulties in the final third this season.
Rank these striker options from best to worst… 😬
There's going to be some different opinions on this! 🫣
Beto is in form at the moment, but in the first half of the season he struggled and Thierno Barry has still yet to really perform consistently.
If Everton are to become one of the challenger clubs to the top sides in the league, like Aston Villa and Newcastle United have been in more recent years, then having a top striker will be essential.
Everton were said to be interested in Nicolas Jackson in January, amid his struggle for game time on loan at Bayern Munich.
But a summer swoop by Everton may be a non-starter following a new claim.
Chelsea to demand a huge fee for Everton target Nicolas Jackson

Jackson has had to play second fiddle to Harry Kane at Bayern Munich this season.
He’s been in a difficult situation because Kane has been in world-class form throughout, so starting opportunities have been scarce.
Despite this, he’s still had a return of 10 goals and four assists in 30 appearances.
But this perhaps doesn’t warrant a £60 million asking price, which is what The Athletic have reported is his valuation.
The publication say that, despite an underwhelming spell at the Allianz Arena, Chelsea sources still feel they have an asset worth up to £60 million on their hands.
They don’t feel his stint in Germany has diminished his value.
That Chelsea are seemingly not going to be dropping their valuation of Jackson heading into the summer does cast doubt on Everton’s potential to sign him.
Which of these players do you want to see Everton SIGN in 2026?
The following names have been suggested by fans on TalkingPoints…
It’s a huge amount to pay for someone who’s not necessarily going to deliver a regular rate of scoring.
Chelsea are known for being quite good at selling players though, and it may well be that they get what they want for Jackson.
But Everton need to ensure they don’t get involved.
