Everton are in the market for a new striker in 2026 and a former Premier League marksman could be available.
David Moyes will be pleased with the progress that Everton have made this year, with the Toffees set to spend Christmas in the top half of the Premier League table.
But one recurring issue has been the lack of goals. Thierno Barry has struggled since arriving, while Beto’s goal tally isn’t exactly inspiring either.
What position do Everton need to strengthen in most, right-back or striker?
Only Nottingham Forest and Wolves have scored fewer goals than Everton in the 2025/26 Premier League campaign.
As a result, Everton are shopping for a new striker in 2026.

Everton showing interest in Nicolas Jackson
According to CaughtOffside, Everton are one of three Premier League teams showing an interest in Nicolas Jackson.
Aston Villa and Newcastle United are also named as interested clubs, while Atletico Madrid and Napoli are mentioned as potential suitors in Europe.
Jackson was loaned from Chelsea to Bayern Munich for the 2025/26 campaign, but the 24-year-old has failed to impress and it is now “highly unlikely” the German team will trigger his £57m buy option.

A striker, a midfielder and a right-back… are we missing anything here?
Chelsea are open to selling Jackson, which could present a bargain opportunity for Everton to swoop and secure his signature.
With Everton open to offloading Beto next month, his departure could open up space and funds for a move for Jackson.
Nicolas Jackson’s record in the Premier League
During his loan stint at Bayern, Jackson has scored five goals in just 542 minutes of football. An impressive record, but nowhere near enough to force Harry Kane out of the starting XI.
A return to the Premier League looks likely, and his record in English football should appeal to Everton fans.

Jackson has made 65 total appearances in the Premier League for Chelsea and scored 24 goals with 10 assists.
Everton fans may remember seeing Jackson score twice against the Toffees during his time in England – once in Chelsea’s 6-0 win, and one in last season’s meeting at Stamford Bridge.
