What Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s agent has just done to tempt Everton to sell striker to Premier League rival

Everton’s summer has been an odd one thus far, and far from smooth sailing.

After all, with Kevin Thelwell first warning fans not to expect much, this was a fanbase prepared and content with a summer of mediocrity just to keep the club afloat.

So, when three quick-fire signings came out of nowhere, the entire Premier League was left stunned, not just Evertonians.

It provided proof that anything truly could happen during this transfer window, and that blind optimism unfortunately extends to outgoings as well as incomings.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin rejected by Premier League rival

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s desire to leave Everton, desperate to win a new contract, has only reinforced the unexpected nature of this summer.

After all, the 27-year-old has been at the club for seven years now, and it was thought that a little loyalty might be present.

But, rejecting contracts and pushing for a move elsewhere, it really feels like their star striker is prioritising a slightly more secure lifestyle in favour of undying support on Merseyside.

Now, to add insult to injury, no one even wants him.

That is, according to writer Sean Whetstone, who took to X to write about the future of the forward: ‘West Ham were offered Dominic Calvert-Lewin by an agent but Everton’s valuation of up to £37m together with huge wage demands of up to £130,000 per week and his injury record means the offer was politely declined’.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin should just sign a new Everton contract

With another failed summer departure from Everton now on his resume, surely there must come a time when Dominic Calvert-Lewin starts to think that sticking around on Merseyside is his best option.

After all, the former England international has enjoyed his best years in Royal Blue, and given the bulk of his career there, scoring some hugely important goals.

And, after the immense show of faith administered by Sean Dyche, trusting in him to recapture his fitness and form, some kind of repayment is in order.

So, with the list of potential suitors dwindling and all that aforementioned, perhaps Calvert-Lewin just needs to swallow his pride and instruct his agent to start working on the goal of keeping him at Everton for a few more seasons at least.
