Everton remain in the market for new signings – and Jack Grealish is still an ambitious target for the Toffees.

Everton have just a few weeks to go now until the new Premier League season starts.

So far, David Moyes has brought in two new faces – Mark Travers and Thierno Barry – and turned Carlos Alcaraz’s loan move permanent.

But a plethora of players departed, meaning Everton still have a lot of squad building to do.

Moyes has admitted Everton are ‘up against it’ in the transfer market as the club cannot currently offer European football to targets.

But Everton do have a world-class new stadium to offer, as well as a great manager and new owners at the helm.

And those new owners The Friedkin Group are out to show their ambition – and signing Jack Grealish on loan would certainly turn some heads.

Grealish needs a new lease of life having fallen by the wayside at City.

2024/25 was a very tough season for him, with injury and loss of form limiting him to just 32 appearances for 1521 minutes.

As a result of his situation, several clubs are interested in signing him.

But the big sticking point for many of the interested clubs is his wages – Grealish is one of the highest-paid players in the Premier League.

Alan Myers admitted he would be ‘surprised’ if Everton landed Grealish this summer.

But The iPaper have reported that Everton remain very much interested and are now ready to make their pitch to Grealish. The Toffees want to sign him on loan.

But they are currently waiting on City to outline the conditions for a move. That is because it is not yet clear whether City will give priority to selling Grealish permanently.

There is a very good chance that Grealish moves on from City this summer, although a loan exit is looking far more likely given the player’s huge wages.

It will almost certainly take City agreeing to pay a big chunk of those wages as he plays his football elsewhere in 2025/26.

Everton really could be an ideal next move for the 29-year-old after his recent struggles at the Etihad Stadium.

Goals – 17
Assists – 23
Trophies – 7

It feels as though he needs an arm around the shoulder and David Moyes is well placed to do that.

We’ve seen him come in at Everton and have tremendous impact on Beto, and plenty of other players improved dramatically after the Scot replaced Sean Dyche.

Most people would love to see the Aston Villa version of Grealish again, and maybe Everton and Moyes are exactly what he needs.
