Everton have had to sanction a number of big-money sales over the last few years.
PSR issues took a grip on Everton during the summer of 2021, which forced their hand to sell Richarlison for £60m the following summer.
Anthony Gordon joined Newcastle United not long after that and indeed, Alex Iwobi left for Fulham in a £22m transfer.
The latter duo have enjoyed productive careers at their new clubs, with Gordon breaking into the England squad.
Iwobi has established himself as one of the best playmakers in Europe with the Cottagers, however, his form has completely dropped off lately.
Fulham fans just can’t understand what’s happened.

Fulham fans slam former Everton star Alex Iwobi
Fulham were in action on Monday night and suffered a 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth, with Iwobi playing the full 90 minutes off the left wing.
Fulham fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, after the game and criticised Iwobi for his really underwhelming performances recently.
“I think Iwobi was nothing short of embarrassing last night. The man can kill games. He’s been good for us overall but we need to improve and use him as a squad player,” @NMEverett01 said.
@HarrySa73627492 added: “He’s just frustrating. Pops up with an important goal or assist at times but has an inability to really beat a player or have a spark of real creativity which kills us.”
@Matthew70569619 posted: “Feel like I’m saying this every game now but what happened to Iwobi playing as a winger and Jedi playing as an overlapping fullback. All I see now is Iwobi standing in the middle of the pitch and Robinson having to take the fullback on 1v1 (which he can’t do).”
“Iwobi has been poor since Xmas,” @HammyenderP commented.
“How the f— has Iwobi played the whole game again?? Been awful for weeks. Scored a lucky deflection last week but just awful,” @anthonyoxboroug added.
@FFCSteven said: “Really don’t get why Silva rates Iwobi so much been awful for ages now.”
Iwobi stats vs Bournemouth
It was a game to forget for Iwobi, who lost the ball a whopping 11 times, according to Sofascore.
- 90 minutes
- 55 touches
- 1 successful dribble
- 11 possession lost
- 4 duels lost
- 1 dribbled past
As Fulham fans alluded to, Iwobi appears to have lost the ability to beat his man, as he made just one successful dribble.
Earlier on in the season, the Nigeria international was willingly taking players on and having great success.
But, for whatever reason, that side of his game has been nullified, with Fulham supporters now starting to question whether he should be dropped.
