Everton fans are hoping to see some activity in the transfer window soon – and word has been given about what is more likely for the club.
Last week was a bad one for the Toffees, who suffered three poor results at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The 4-2 loss to Brentford was a terrible way to start 2026.
Everton then followed that up with a poor showing against Wolves, having taken the lead in that game. The match finished 1-1.

And on Saturday, Everton went out of the FA Cup, losing in a penalty shootout to Sunderland.
Everton have a lot of players unavailable at the moment and the likelihood is that things will improve once they return.
But that has done little to stop supporters from urging the club to get busy this month.
However, Everton splashing the cash doesn’t appear to be on the cards.

Loans more likely for Everton
This is an important window for The Friedkin Group.
Yes, Everton have just had a bad week. But the club remain in a decent position in the Premier League, and are still in contention for European football come the end of the season.
With a strong window, Everton could potentially enjoy a strong second half of the season. Especially with key players set to come back soon.

But it seems there may be a reliance on those that are coming back, with Everton reportedly unlikely to be splashing out over the next 21 days.
The Liverpool Echo has reported that Everton are currently more likely to look at loan deals for new players, ‘unless something exceptional presents itself’.
This comes after David Moyes recently admitted Everton are unlikely to make many additions this month, but that they were looking around.

The next 20 days will paint an interesting picture of The Friedkin Group
At the moment the narrative is that Everton aren’t really attacking this transfer window.
It seems that, despite the club being in a promising position, there is a reluctance to really push to increase the quality and depth of the squad.
