Everton manager David Moyes sat down for his pre-match Wolves press conference on Tuesday afternoon.
Everton were convincingly beaten by Brentford on Sunday, with Jake O’Brien admitting his teammates were very fatigued.
The only positive from that game was Beto and Thierno Barry scoring, and they looked quite good as a front two.
Nevertheless, it’s understood that Moyes still wants to sign a new centre-forward this January transfer window.
Name your Everton signing out of these strikers… 💥
Have we missed anyone out? 🤔
That said, Moyes was asked at his press conference whether Everton would be making any signings this month.

David Moyes admits Everton are unlikely to make signings this month
Naturally, with the transfer window now open, one of the first questions to Moyes was whether Everton would be able to add to the squad this month.
Unfortunately, Moyes admitted it’s ‘unlikely’, but the club are assessing the market and keeping tabs on players.
What do you make to that Everton fans? 😒
“But I wouldn’t say that completely because obviously we are looking out there to see what there is and see if we can get something.
“But I just wouldn’t want to get everyone’s hopes up if we’re saying likely, then you might think that that means we’re on with something.
“We are looking at some players and we are looking to see if we can add to it, we will do. Ideally… always you’d want it (signings) earlier in the window, with a bit of luck, we’ll get the boys back from AFCON mid-way through January.”
Everton may have to sell-to-buy
Whilst Moyes didn’t state this, it does sound as though Everton are relatively close to the PSR limit, having shelled out over £100m in the summer.
So, the Toffees may need to offload players in order to bring some in. That said, Beto has been linked to Fenerbahce over the last few days.
Alan Myers believes Everton are willing to listen to offers for Beto, but a replacement would be ‘mandatory’.
In terms of replacements, Moyes has a three-man shortlist which includes Jorgen Strand Larsen, Ivan Toney and Artem Dovbyk.
AZ Alkmaar’s Troy Parrott has also been scouted by Moyes’ staff, but the Dutch outfit are demanding £31m to sanction his sale.
That may be out of Everton’s price range this month.
