What John Textor’s Everton plans are with Sean Dyche should he complete his takeover

Aside from their disappointing start to the season, there is so much going on behind the scenes at Everton in an effort to cement its long-term future.

After all, this three-game losing run in the Premier League, admittedly, should be inconsequential across the entire campaign, with comfortable safety once again being Sean Dyche‘s main goal.

What will not be inconsequential is the takeover, which is still very much an ongoing process even if nothing seems to be happening on the surface.

In fact, with John Textor still giving it his all, one reporter has now provided us with an insight into his plans should he gain control.

John Textor has a plan for Sean Dyche

Speaking exclusively to Everton.News, Graeme Bailey gave us the lowdown not only on John Textor’s attempted Everton takeover, but also how this might relate to the future of Dyche.

After all, the former Burnley man has come under some intense scrutiny early on this season, despite all he has accomplished at Goodison Park.

The revered journalist would reveal: ‘From what we’re hearing, he’s on thin ice with the current regime. It’s not just linked to John Textor and a possible takeover. It’s the guys currently at the club now.

‘Obviously, the start of the season has gone badly; a lot worse than what they thought. The club as a whole thought they had a relatively good summer. Better than most thought.

‘The start to the season has just been wholly inadequate.

‘It is a consideration whether Sean Dyche is the right man now to take them going forward.

‘There is obviously the issue with John Textor and ownership, but that is to be long-term anyway. Does that see a new change in manager? Not necessarily. And that’s a long way from being done a dusted. I don’t think they’ll be waiting on anything there.

‘I’m told that there’s a suggestion that Textor knows in theory who he might like but that’s a million miles away from where we are now.’

Three non-negotiables that John Textor must do at Everton

If Textor is to take over, there are three non-negotiable things that he must do to not only ensure Everton are a success but to keep the Evertonians on his side.

Firstly, transparency with those fans should be paramount, and through the right channels too.

Farhad Moshiri‘s desperation to rush to talkSPORT grew very old very quickly, so his American potential successor should seek to learn from this.

The Toffees have already made good strides in this regard.

Secondly, and this almost goes hand-in-hand with the first, is that the club must continue operating in a sustainable way going forward, particularly with transfers. This needs no explanation really.

Finally, and this is perhaps subject to the decision he makes about Dyche, is that he must trust a manager.

Whether that is the 53-year-old or someone else entirely, he needs to wholeheartedly back them, allowing them to mould the squad in his image whilst remaining confident that, in doing so, it will bring success back to the club.
