What one agent is saying about David Moyes’ future as Everton links persist

Everton’s start to the new season has been far from impressive, but at last they have a few points on the board from which they can build.

After all, before last weekend’s win over Crystal Palace, they sat at the foot of the Premier League table.

Naturally, with such a dire run of form, speculation over Sean Dyche’s Everton future was rife.

And, ironically so given the update just received, it was David Moyes linked with a return to Goodison Park.

Now, the likelihood of that occurring has dropped dramatically.

David Moyes’ future made clearer

The update on Moyes’ future is provided by Hammers News, who claim: ‘A top Hammers News agent source has claimed Moyes has been sounded out for a big comeback by Crystal Palace.

‘After a brilliant end to last season Oliver Glasner has struggled so far this.

‘The former Eintracht Frankfurt boss knocked Moyes out of the Europa League when he was West Ham boss.

‘Now the Scot might end up taking his job.

‘Word from the top contact is that Steve Parish could consider sacking Glasner if Palace are well beaten by Liverpool next weekend.

‘Palace are yet to win a single game since selling the likes of Michael Olise, Jordan Ayew and Joachim Andersen in the summer.

‘And they are the only team to lose to struggling West Ham and Everton thus far.’

Sean Dyche’s Everton job made slightly more secure

This will be music to Sean Dyche‘s ears, with the 53-year-old having seen his position in the Goodison Park hot seat put under pressure mainly by the Scotsman.

Should he take up a role elsewhere in the Premier League, it will effectively end all speculation surrounding this potential move, thus securing the former Burnley boss’ position.

It’s ironic that this will coincide with Everton’s first Premier League win of the season, which has also alleviated plenty of pressure too.

Dyche has steered his side to safety on two occasions now and deserves to see out his contract, even if the start to the new campaign has been less than stellar.

The likelihood of him achieving this goal will be made far more probable if Moyes is taken off the market.
