According to Corriere dello Sport, the Friedkin Group are buying Everton as part of a group logic, not to make them the focus moving forward.

They report that the Americans have told new manager Claudio Ranieri that they have ‘exclusive interest’ in Roma amid rumours of a potential Saudi takeover.

Could Everton make use of the club model?

Well, Roma do possess a number of high quality players who could make a difference at Everton.

It’s already been reported that a potential swap deal could be on the cards involving Beto and Bryan Cristante, though nothing is concrete.

A number of managers, including Graham Potter, have been linked with both Roma and Everton too, so there are already similarities in the thinking of the Friedkin Group between the two clubs.

However, it’s important that they don’t weight any potential deals in favour of one club, as it could soon start to disrupt things.
