Everton fans must be getting impatient now with all the twists and turns of the potential takeover, but there now appears to be a realistic timeline that has been set by.

The Friedkin Group have had plenty of other things to worry about of late, as the managerial situation at Roma is under the watchful eye of the supporters, with results far from good.

Things haven’t gone too well on the field for Everton in the past two games either when you look at the actual performances on the field, despite picking up a point against Fulham.

Sean Dyche is under pressure from the Friedkin Group to improve on the Toffees’ current position after losing to Southampton, despite them not officially being in charge.

It’s safe to say the prospective new owners already have one eye on the new stadium and the potential revenue next season. This is why there has been such an importance placed on avoiding relegation.

In an update from the Athletic, there is a realistic timeline of when the takeover could be announced.

One of the issues that has been a worry for many Everton supporters is the ongoing court case between A-Cap and Leadenhall.

Alan Myers issued an update recently about the current situation of the Everton takeover amid the court case, as there were worries it could be a wait until March 2025 for it to be resolved.

The Athletic have put everyone’s fears to rest as well, as they’ve provided an update on the realistic timeframe of the Everton takeover.

‘There is still a feeling the December timeframe outlined remains realistic, with some best-case scenarios focusing more on the start of the month. Again, though, predicting with any certainty remains a challenge given the spinning plates.

‘TFG could technically take ownership of Everton without Leadenhall and the court’s assent, provided approval comes as expected from the Premier League, FA and FCA. But the aim is still to resolve the A-CAP debt before completion.’

Who could the Friedkin Group target in January?

It’s unlikely that the Friedkin Group will pile too much money into the January transfer window given the PSR worries and there’s really no need unless there’s a visible improvement to be made.

Of course, we as fans can see where needs strengthening, but with avoiding relegation being the only target, it seems as if they’ll do the bare minimum unless that comes under threat.

A striker would be one position with goals hard to come by this season, though that’s more been down to the reluctance of Dyche to change things.

Youssef Chermiti and Armando Broja are also on the recovery trail and could have an impact on things moving forward, so it’ll depends on the situation when January comes around.
