Everton have now been linked with a move for Jonathan Rowe, as David Moyes seeks to get bodies through the door after a worryingly quiet period.
The Toffees have not been active in the transfer window for a couple of weeks now, after signing Hayden Hackney from Middlesbrough.

The club also signed Tyrique George and Merlin Rohl permanently, and it was a positive time.
But Everton have been very quiet since.
Now, though, it seems David Moyes could be looking to sign a new winger in Jonathan Rowe (via TEAMtalk) – and here’s everything you need to know about the Bologna winger.
Who is Everton target Jonathan Rowe?
Jonathan Rowe was born in London on 30 April 2003, making him 23 years old.
Rowe had a brief spell at semi-professional club AFC Wembley as a child, before joining the Norwich City academy.
In October 2021, he signed his first professional deal with the club, and made his first-team debut in December 2021, coming on in a Premier League game against Crystal Palace.
He would enjoy a breakthrough at Norwich in the 2023/24 season, which saw him get shortlisted for the EFL Championship Young Player of the Season award.
Rowe had a loan spell with Marseille in 2024/25 before joining them permanently in the summer.
But Rowe left the club that same summer, after he was involved in a fracas which resulted in him and Adrien Rabiot leaving the club. Roberto De Zerbi said: “It was a bar fight, in front of the sporting director, in front of the coach.
“It was a fight like I’ve never seen in all my years in football.”

Rowe has since expressed regret over the incident.
He joined Bologna and last season, he scored eight goals and made five assists in 44 appearances across all competitions.

Rowe previously arrived at Norwich as a striker, but he also had spells playing as a central attacking midfielder.
These days, Rowe tends to play out wide, with the left being his most common position.
That allows him to take players on and cut inside and shoot.
A few years ago, Rowe said of his playing style (via Norwich’s YouTube channel): “I’m really, like, a flair-y type of player. I’m really out there. When I play, you’ll know I’m on the pitch. It’s more like, I’m not really a simple type of player. I like to take risks for the team and create something from nothing.”
That would suggest he could be Everton’s new Yannick Bolasie, who was famous for being a flair player.
Rowe has previously suggested he models his game on Raheem Sterling (via GFFN), and he has also been compared to Sadio Mane in terms of style.
Rowe has a powerful shot, which has allowed him to create an impressive goal catalogue while at Bologna. He also has an eye for the spectacular, as he showed with an improvised scissor kick stoppage-time winner against Napoli.
The idea of him on Everton’s left wing is exciting, especially with George on the opposite side. It would be a speedy pair, something Everton really haven’t had for quite some time.
