Sources have informed Everton News that Akarakiri had multiple offers from Serie A outfits, which proposed the prospect of first-team football for the 2026/27 campaign.
Negotiations on Merseyside dragged on as Akarakiri was being offered more promising opportunities elsewhere.
Bridging the gap from the academy to the first-team is something Everton need to work on over the coming years.
Harrison Armstrong struggled to win over David Moyes following his recall from his loan at Preston North End earlier in the year.
With this in mind, Akarakiri and his camp have seemingly opted to test their chances away from Finch Farm just two years after joining.
Exciting talent Braiden Graham is expected to leave Everton on loan this summer, with the standout performer from the U21 side still some distance away from impacting the senior side.
Clearly, the gap to Moyes’ squad is viewed as a step too far currently for those in the academy set up, which makes this opportunity for Akarakiri one that he could not pass up on.
