Djed Spence is expected to move on from Tottenham Hotspur this summer, with Everton one of several clubs interested.
The Toffees are targeting a new right-back as a matter of priority, but so far there has been no movement – which is starting to concern fans.
Many felt it should have been the first thing done this summer.
Just focusing on Everton’s right-back search, who should the club bring in this summer and why? 🤔
From Spence, to White, to Norton-Cuffy, there have been links to so many players so far…
Everton have done three deals so far, but a new right-back still hasn’t come in yet – and seemingly the club aren’t particularly close to one either.
Djed Spence emerged as a target for Everton earlier this summer, and his profile has been growing at the World Cup.
Inevitably, shining on the world stage has increased the number of eyes on him, but here are a few reasons why he should genuinely consider a move to Everton this summer.
Why Djed Spence has to strongly consider Everton
First and foremost, whether Everton can sign Spence or not is probably going to depend on finances.
Spurs will want to capitalise on the full-backs exposure at the World Cup, and he is unlikely to move on the cheap.
But if Everton are willing to make a serious offer for Spence, then the 25-year-old ought to give serious consideration to joining Everton.
After watching him for England vs Croatia, I’m convinced he’d be the perfect right-back signing this summer! 🔥
Firstly, he is going to play. And that is ultimately the reason why he is being strongly linked with leaving Spurs.
Everton are desperate for a new right-back after the exit of Seamus Coleman. Nathan Patterson is unfancied by David Moyes and will probably be sold.
And the Jake O’Brien right-back experiment needs to end, so he can build a partnership with Jarrad Branthwaite in the middle.
He is going to play regularly if he comes, and that has to be a huge factor. And his versatility will only help him more.
There is also the notion that he would settle very quickly.
Everton have one of the largest contingents of English players in the Premier League, and Spence would not take long to be at ease in his new environment.
Spence has been linked with Inter Milan, which is perhaps an exciting challenge.
But it would undoubtedly take him longer to settle there, with the Italian giants playing in a different league and having no English players.
He would also fit Everton like a glove, being a physical player.

This Everton side under Moyes is all about strength, hard work and countering. Spence is a real athlete, combining power with remarkable speed.
He would be a fantastic outlet for the Toffees, and his style as a swashbuckling full-back could make him a genuine hit with the fans, who are some of the most passionate in the world.
They loved Coleman for that kind of style, and they would love Spence for it too – and that has surely got to appeal.
