Everton have been linked with a potential summer swoop for Tottenham Hotspur defender Djed Spence.
The 25-year-old has been in action over the last 24 hours for England after being handed a start at the World Cup against Ghana.
It has been suggested that Spence has made Everton’s transfer radar as the Blues search for a new right-back this summer.
After watching him for England vs Croatia, I’m convinced he’d be the perfect right-back signing this summer! 🔥
Everton fans will have kept a close eye on the Spurs defender during Tuesday’s frustrating draw in Foxborough.
It was not Spence’s finest performance, but there may be even bigger questions over how the defender would operate under a manager like David Moyes.

Djed Spence may not work well under Everton manager David Moyes
Spence has certainly overcome plenty of obstacles to get to the position he is at currently playing in the World Cup.
One of those was the public comments from Neil Warnock, who warned Spence he could become a non-league player.
The Tottenham defender has not shied away from hitting back at the veteran manager since those comments were made, with clear responses over his social media platforms.
What would you be doing with Nathan Patterson this summer if you were Angus Kinnear? 👋
Surely the writing is on the wall now?
This is relevant as, although not to that extent, Moyes has called out Everton players in the media over recent months.
Harrison Armstrong was on the end of a Moyes rant during a press conference earlier this year about his levels in training.
“He needs to keep his work up at the moment. He’s just had a little bit of a dip, and I can see that from him,” Moyes said back in April.
The concerns over whether Spence is currently the right fit for Moyes should not end there.
Leon Osman has been wowed by Spence’s pace, which could be a major addition to what has become a fairly pedestrian Everton side.
Serious questions have been asked about Moyes’ style of play and his vision for this football club since the turn of the year.
Making their thoughts known on TalkingPoints, there have been a lot of Everton fans calling for Moyes to be replaced this summer.
During Spence’s spell under Thomas Frank, his frustrations with the struggling Tottenham manager were there for all to see.
Although it may not have been the best of looks for the defender, both Spence and Micky Van de Ven were both seen ignoring Frank’s offer of a handshake after a Spurs defeat last season.
Given the way in which Moyes has this Everton side playing at times it is not hard to imagine this scene repeating itself on Merseyside.
Recent images have surfaced of Thomas Tuchel demanding a lot from Spence in an England training session over in the United States.
These images were then followed up by Spence being rewarded for his response to Tuchel’s instructions through his start against Ghana on Tuesday.
Clearly, the defender responds well to authority, but Moyes’ methods have often played out through comments in the media.
Spence has an awful lot to offer Everton through his pace, defensive ability and his versatility, but it has to be questioned whether Moyes is the right man to utilise the 25-year-old.
