William Osula to Everton looks a non-starter as outrageous new valuation emerges

Everton will look to add new forwards this summer, but a move for William Osula is starting to feel beyond the Toffees.

Beto and Thierno Barry have scored 18 goals between them this season across all competitions, but there is a feeling that this tally should be higher.

Which of these players do you want to see Everton SIGN in 2026?

Both have had purple patches this term, but both have also struggled.

If Everton are to reach the next level, a real killer in front of goal will be required, and there will also need to be a bit more creativity in the advanced midfield areas.

Recently it was reported that William Osula is on Everton’s radar heading into the summer.

But a new report about the Newcastle United ace has now cast major doubt on a move.

Osula has struggled for game time this season at Newcastle.

Eddie Howe has preferred the likes of Nick Woltemade, Yoane Wissa and sometimes Anthony Gordon up top, and Osula has often come off the bench.

As a result, there’s been talk of the Dane leaving St. James’ Park.

But in recent weeks he’s really hit form, and two more goals at the weekend against West Ham United took his tally to seven in the Premier League and nine in all competitions.

Given his lack of starting opportunities, that gives Osula the best minutes-per-goal ratio in the Premier League, with one every 106 minutes played.

He is also outperforming his xG significantly and as a result, Newcastle are now demanding a huge fee.

The i Paper report that Osula was signed for £30 million, and it would now take double that to just get around the table with Newcastle for transfer discussions.

This clearly makes any move to Everton this summer highly unlikely.

£60 million is a huge amount of money to pay, for someone who is still not proven in the Premier League, with just eight goals in 58 appearances in total.

Everton kept their powder dry in January and will come into the summer with a decent amount to spend.

But it will still be paramount to be clever with their cash, in an age where there is little room for error.

Osula is a good player, and he could well become great. But Everton simply cannot be entertaining any pursuit given this valuation.
