Wolves now considering appointing manager who the Friedkin Group want at Everton

Everton aren’t the only club in trouble in the Premier League, with Wolves’ current situation showing that it could be worse for supporters at Goodison Park.

Gary O’Neil is one of only two managers not to secure a single win yet in the Premier League, with a crunch clash with Southampton coming up at the weekend.

Everton fans have been far from happy with the two recent performances. It was the Southampton loss that really tipped things over, with Sean Dyche’s decision to snub Jarrad Branthwaite a big concern.

Sean Dyche is currently under scrutiny by the Friedkin Group, and could join a number of managers on the brink of a possible sacking should Everton lose to West Ham.

Interestingly, it looks as if Gary O’Neil could be the next man to be sacked after Erik ten Hag left Manchester United recently, with a boss the prospective Everton owners like being lined up.

Wolves considering hiring David Moyes as Gary O’Neil’s potential replacement

Of course, O’Neil’s sacking isn’t confirmed as Wolves could come away with all three points against Southampton, but the fact they’re already identifying replacements doesn’t look good.

It’s a familiar face that Wolves do have in mind.

David Moyes has enjoyed having the last few months off after being relieved of his duties at West Ham United, despite leading them to European glory at the London Stadium.

According to TBR, David Moyes and Rob Edwards are two potential replacements for Gary O’Neil.

However, this may spoil the plans of the Friedkin Group, as they’re supposedly eyeing Moyes as their top replacement for Sean Dyche if things deteriorate at Goodison Park.

How likely is a Sean Dyche sacking?

Well, a Sean Dyche sacking seems unlikely this weekend as Everton are currently four points ahead of the relegation zone, so as much as it would be concerning to lose, there’s no chance of slipping in.

However, teams below are guaranteed to gain points on Everton should they lose, as Wolves and Southampton play each other at Molineux.

It’s clear that there are concerns from the prospective owners already, which isn’t a good sign for Dyche, but as we’ve seen at Roma, changing a manager too soon can have its issues.

Dyche’s style of play is definitely not attractive and has been the downfall in recent weeks when you’re not scoring enough goals, but he does know how to avoid relegation.
