Everton are now in pole position to sign a very highly-rated midfielder on the continent, with Nottingham Forest likely to miss out.
Everton have had a tough summer transfer window so far, with David Moyes admitting that targets are put off by the lack of European football.
There have only been three arrivals up to now, which is some way off the 10 players David Moyes wants before the window shuts at the start of September.
However, the Toffees are now close to signing Adam Aznou from Bayern Munich, which is considered a real coup.
Now, there is another fresh transfer development emerging out of Finch Farm, as one of their top targets has just said yes to joining.

Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz says yes to Everton transfer
Everton have been in talks to sign Douglas Luiz from Juventus for much of the summer transfer window, though, they’ve not been alone in their interest.
Nottingham Forest, West Ham, Fulham and Leeds are also keen on signing Luiz, who is available for around £34m.
Now, there has finally been a breakthrough in negotiations, as according to JuventusNews24, Luiz has said yes to joining Everton.
The Brazil international has clearly been convinced by the project under the Friedkin Group, so now it’s a case of reaching an agreement on a club-to-club basis.
Everton want a straight loan deal for Luiz
There is a potential stumbling block in the Luiz deal as Everton, at this stage, are offering a straight loan deal, which doesn’t satisfy Juve.
The Serie A giants ideally want a permanent transfer, but they would consider a loan with an obligation to buy.
So, for this transfer to materialise, the Toffees must have a buy agreement in place, otherwise, they could be overtaken by the aforementioned Premier League suitors.
Juve are keen to finalise a deal so they can allocate funds to new signings, so talks should advance over the coming days.
Luiz is considered a ‘world class’ midfielder (per The Athletic), so there shouldn’t be any quarrels about paying his £34m valuation.
